The Psychedelic Record of the Fillmore Auditoriums

Usually they would have been protect groups showcasing oldies but goodies.Neo-Psychedelic audio is basically any group after the 60's/70's that made a Psychedelic sound. Because of the modernization and multitude of new styles, these bands never made true Psychedelia. They were Neo.Here is a set of my own Top favorite Neo-Psychedelic companies of the 1980's:Most people know the customers of this band under the moniker XTC.

XTC wanted to produce a few documents to pay gratitude to Psychedelia, nonetheless it wouldn't jive with their electro disco grooves. Cue The Dukes of Stratosphear. These were a blip on the screen, publishing a mini-album ("25 O'Clock") in 1985 and the full length ("Psonic Psunspot") in 1987. One little sweet artifact: in the loans of XTC's "Skylarking" recording, the group thanked The Dukes for loaning them their guitars.Suggested tracks: "What In The Earth?", "Your Silver Dress" Magic mushrooms.

A short-lived group, productive between 1981 and 1988 (but also recently reformed in 2012), The Water Parade got out of the Paisley Subterranean world in Los Angeles. Jangly guitars dominate the spectrum, harking to early White Floyd, The Who, and mid-career Beatles. A bit more toned down, however great inspirational music. Enthusiasm for what? You be the judge.
***Suggested tracks: "I Look Around", "Search Both Ways"

Primarily notable for the teaming of The Cure's Robert Smith and Siouxsie and the Banshees' Steven Severin, that is New Trend Psychedelia. Named following the soaring glove in The Beatles' "Orange Submarine" movie, The Glove create only one record, "Blue Sunshine", named following the horror movie of exactly the same name in which persons take a form of LSD named "Blue Sunshine" and continue a murder spree.Suggested songs: "Orgy", "Punish Me With Kisses"

Among the weirdest in that bunch. LPD are an Anglo-Dutch band originally from London, transferred to Amsterdam. They've released 40 pictures, all more or less from the mainstream. But, they do have a following and visit regularly. Their 80's production is primarily synthpop based Psychedelia. Great 80's/60's crossover.Suggested songs: "Sleezo", "Wall Purges Night"Still another Paisley Underground group and led by Steve Winn, the Syndicate was an 80's version of The Velvet Underground.
