Reddit user Mrcaruthers recently shared their initial experience with Diablo 4 and their frustration with Clans costing money , despite a Diablo 4 mechanic automatically kicking players out of Clans. Many players continue to make Clans and explore the time period from Diablo 2 as well as Diablo 3 and Diablo 3 in Diablo 4 along with friends. A few players, including Mrcaruthers, have decided to join the Shadow Lottery in an effort to become a Shadow and become a member of an Dark Clan in Diablo 4 However, the Reddit player wasn't aware of the restrictions before making the decision.

Mrcaruthers said that they had paid to start their own clan following their level to the next level in Diablo 4 to reach level 30 and shortly afterward became a Shadow after a friend suggested the switch.
