Here's when you can get into the Diablo 4 gold Server Slam and find out how the game is different ahead of its full launch.

Diablo 4

Following two beta periods, Blizzard is going to be hosting your final Diablo IV playtest--dubbed the Server Slam--in May, just a couple of weeks prior to the game's full launch. This test is, because the name implies, meant to test the developer's online infrastructure and be sure that issues could be ironed out prior to the game going live. Of course, it is also a great chance to try out Diablo IV's five different classes and explore the field of Sanctuary, particularly if you haven't decided whether you need to buy the game yet. Here's everything we all know about the Diablo IV Server Slam to date, such as the start date, available content, classes, rewards, and much more.

Diablo IV Server Slam start date

The Diablo IV Server Slam will run from May 12-14 and become available on all the game's platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC. The test is only going to run for all those three days, unlike the beta, which was split into two weekends and carried over progress between your two. Progress won't carry over from those weekends toward the Server Slam, nor will Server Slam progress transfer toward the full game. However, should you already have that game client installed, it'll still work with the Server Slam once it's updated.

What's contained in the Server Slam?

The Server Slam will feature exactly the same basic slice of content observed in the previous beta tests: the game's prologue and Act 1. One major area called Fractured Peaks can be obtained to explore, with all of the quests and side activities happening there.

All five courses are playable throughout the Server Slam:

Druid

Barbarian

Rogue

Necromancer

Sorcerer

Alongside the very first several hours of main quests, you will also be able to undertake side quests, explore hidden areas, and battle a strong world boss called Ashava. Defeating this boss is going to be a serious challenge, as unlike in the prior betas, your level is capped at 20. Only those who've reached level 20 are going to be eligible for that special Cry of Ashava mount trophy, detailed below.

The world boss is going to be available beginning May 13 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET and can spawn every three hours until May 14 at exactly the same time.

What is different from the beta?

Your characters' progress within the beta won't transfer, meaning everyone who plays the Server Slam is going to be starting in the very beginning. However, tweaks happen to be made to balance classes that are reflective of how these classes will have at launch.

These changes incorporate a 10% across-the-board incoming damage reduction for Barbarians, who have been difficult to use like a solo player within the early areas of the story. Companion skills for Druids are also heavily buffed, along with a variety of other buffs and nerf that have affected all five classes. If you liked a class throughout the beta, it might be wise to use them again throughout the Server Slam and find out if that's still the situation.

Diablo IV Server Slam rewards

Alongside the aforementioned Cry of Ashava mount trophy, which you'll only manage to defeat the Ashava world boss after reaching level 20, you may also earn the Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic item. To get this, all you have to do is reach level 20, and should you already do so throughout the beta test, you're all set. The reward will appear within the full game if this launches in June, as will the Initial Casualty title for reaching Kyovashad city.

Otherwise, progress in the Server Slam won't carry over towards the full game, however, you will get a feeling of how drop rates on legendary items have changed. After being intentionally increased throughout the beta, they'll now be at their launch level for that Server Slam.

diablo 4 Gold launches on June 6 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
